Friends Day (S1 Ep.17-13)
Thursday,
February 13
This
week started in the best possible way, with all of us together. At the end of
Sunday we had about two hundred and five Valentine's day postcards, made by us.
On Monday we fill the form of the palace garden reservation and I took to mom the
term of warranty. On Tuesday we got the confirmation, we did the payment and had
the first meeting with the maintenance crew. Yesterday, Wednesday, we reviewed
the invitations and posters made by Sofie and Charlie, we opened the box office
and we had a second meeting with the maintenance crew.
Today
is Thursday, will be a day also filled, but we had a lot to celebrate too.
Being the third Thursday before Carnival, here in the region we celebrate the Friends
Day and as usual the lunch of this day is special. We chose the KoffyBreak this
year, not only as a thank you, as well as for other reasons. Since I found this
space last year, I felt a good connection, the girls and I have great memories
of our evenings here last summer.
We
started the day early in school, where the distribution of Valentine's day cards,
letters and Gifts already started since the beginning of the week. At the end
of the day is done the collecting of all scattered mailboxes in the halls and
on the morning after its delivery. Honestly, normally, we're excited to see who
received what and from who. However this year and despite the full weekend that
I would have to pass on "Lovers" them, it was not an issue that I'd
like to think about.
Dianne:
Our little Rose received a box of chocolates and a letter.
Monic:
A secret love! Hum...
Joan:
From whom? – Her clumsy smile did not hide the fear I saw in her eyes. Feared it
could be from Mikhael.
Rose:
I don't know, I didn't open it. It's probably the same person who sent the
chocolate hearts. Clearly doesn't know me, much less in love it is.
Joan:
In fact, who knows you knows that you can't eat that. - Suddenly became a
little more relieved.
Monic:
You didn’t get curious?
Rose:
Honestly? I didn't. I don't have time for little flirtations, some things are
more important.
Dianne:
I'd say equally important. – Said, beaming, looking at the stuffed animal that
received from Mario.
Rose:
well, let's not spoil your romance. – I uttered smiling tenderly to her Teddy
bear. – Let’s ordered lunch, ladies?! We still have to pass the City Hall,
today it begins the building. I can't thank you enough.
Joan:
Your friendship is the best gift that we could have.
Monic:
Make of yours my words. A toast to the Friends Day.
The
situation between me and Joan have not been very good, but her words were right
to the heart and if I didn't cry by the letter nor by the gift I received was
now about to do it.
Each
of the girls were a part of me, we grew so much together, we spend incredible
moments, we had our discussions and we always find our way back. In bad times,
we supported each other and together we discovered a solution… Their friendships were definitely a gift.
Today
we celebrated Friends Day and the achievement that together we have
achieved. And together we were about to take a giant step. We were new and full
of dreams, but soon learned the cost of work and dedication to achieving them.
We were united for life, all knew it and accept it before knowing the real
reason that brought us this far and that kept us in search of each other.
After
a busy day, I was eager to get to the bed, pet Kat and give in to sleep. But
before I could do it I found myself looking at the letter on top of the box of
chocolates and wondering why I haven't had them thrown out.
The
box of chocolates didn't have the usual wrapper, certainly was a prank. Put it in the trash without even open it. I was going to do the same with the letter...
Instead, I sat up in bed to read it…
