Focused on the common goal (S1 Ep.6-3)
Saturday, July 20
Two days had passed and Joan was looking better. I had not talked in "subject" again which seemed to leave her serene. Last Friday, we went back to the routine of training, which was great! Training helps me to relax, to forget, for a moment, the problems that torment me, the fears that often insist in return, help me feel confident as if I were capable of the impossible, every step, every shot I feel an unshakable force, at least there in the field… Whether it's school, vacation or summer job, I make time for volleyball. I need these moments.
There were being completed days, we had a lot of work on our hands. It was not easy to work in the morning on the project and in the afternoon in the pieces, but with small steps that we were taking a day to day, we could see the flowers of our work bloom. As the planning would be the basis of the whole project, we would spend as much time as it was necessary for a good solid pillars terms.
My dream was no longer just a dream, it was getting pretty real and now I didn't want to go back. These last few months had made me stronger, more warrior, I loved that feeling and I didn't want to lose it!
The taste with which we worked helped to forget the passage of time, as well as the latest sunset. Nevertheless, I kept attentive to watch, in fact, I kept attentive to everything involving Joan. I was really careful with words, feared to be the fuse that instigated hers going distant...
Rose: Joan, do you want to have dinner here?
Joan: Today I can’t! I promise my mom that I’d eat dinner at home.
Rose: It's nearly seven pm.
Joan: Tchi! I gotta get going! The labels are placed in all tissues that I cut. And I separated it by colour like you asked.
Rose: Okay, thank you. Go on then, I will end this here. Monday practice?
Joan: Yes!
Rose: Tomorrow, you're going to your grandmother's house, right?!
Joan: Yes, I'm going to go have lunch and spend the afternoon there, too!
Rose: I'll take tomorrow to work on pamphlets, to publicize the site and the pages on social networks.
Joan: So, then send me the result! We could leverage on Monday after training for the print and distribute, what do you say?
Rose: Yes, it can be! If I can prepare all in time.
Joan: All right! Until Monday, beautiful. I have to go!
Rose: Until Monday, Joan!
There was so much to say, but this middle ground where we were kept both focused on the common goal, the project. I always heard the expression "in the middle of two evils there is always a minor". I didn't know if this was the minor, but here we were, being courteous to each other. However, the cloud that was above us was heavy, sometimes seemed too loaded, ready to unleash their thunderstorm.
After saying goodbye to Kat, Joan followed her way home, confident that Monday we began again from where we left off today…
