For the present time (S1 Ep.7-13)

By the main hall we went thru on our way towards the school’s bar and despite the message alert from Sofie deflecting us from the subject we were discussing, my mind was full of ideas, emerging one after another. Ideas for birthday parties, for commemorations, for concerts… But a new theme emerged. For a long time, we didn’t gather with the girls to watch one of their rehearsals.
Rose: Today we could go see the girls rehearsal!
Joan: Of course! Dianne left me a lot of messages, so this week we don’t forget to pass by...
Rose: To you too?!
Joan e Rose: Typical Dianne! Ahaha.
Joan: Oh my God! – Her face turned pale, Her look reflected the amazement with which she pronounced those words. And despite having delivered in a normal tone I hardly understood her.
Rose: Did youuu saaaid soomethiing Jooan... - Suddenly I lost the strength in my legs, I felt my body so hot, like burning, my vision was blurred, in my hearing a buzzing sound from hell and just before I almost fall, without hesitation, Joan put her hand on my arm and delivered the following words…
Joan: Ad praesens tempus. Rose!?
Rose: ...Wow, I just had a dizziness. What strange feeling...
Joan: Are you alright, Rose?
Rose: Yes…
Joan: Are you sure?

Rose: Yes! I just need to sit down for a minute.
Joan: So, go to the girls at the bar! I'll be there in a moment. I need to take care of a business here in the office! – Her coolness left me surprised, why would she react like that? What did she whisper when she touched me?
Rose: I can't wait ...
Joan: Would be better if you were going, ask for a bottle of water, you will see that will do you good… I’ll be there as soon as possible, seriously. - Faced with such insistence, I replied in accordance to her request.
Rose: Okay!!
What had just happened? Joan was very weird! To my every step I focused on her words, trying to remember exactly what she said. It wasn't the first time I heard her pronouncing that kind of words. Although I didn't understand all that she said, my mind took me to a reality that I didn't want to believe it could be real, it was not possible.
Still, whenever Joan use such expressions something strange was going on. First her diary and those surreal images, now this feel as real as my breathing.
Repeating to me, over and over again those words, I diverted my path and went straight to the library. I wasn't sure of how to pronounce, much less write it. After a few tries the only expression that sounded out correct was “Ad praesens tempus", my notion of what I heard couldn't have been more right, the search engine had recognised this sentence and translated from the Latin as "to the present time". To the present time!?. What in hell...
