Monic was quick to intervene with Dianne’s question, because the last time we came together for special shopping, was at Christmas. At that time I bought only a small souvenir that I recalled Mom spoke about it. I had saved enough to buy it so I did it to surprise her. Dianne insisted that I should buy something more, it was nothing special, it was just to bring a gift for Charlie too. She even said she would buy the gifts for me if necessary, which ended up in discussion and ruined our "shopping"! I know, teen drama, the claim for independence, pride…
Dianne didn’t know that I already had made the present for Charlie. I often heard him say that he liked a hat to go with the gloves, but he couldn't find it in blue and light grey stripes, so I asked Mom for some wool yarns and I did the two pieces like he wanna. For me offering something must be meaningful. It's not because is cheap or expensive, is not because is big or small, it has to make a difference, to have some importance for who will receive it. When I explained this to Dianne she understood and also apologized, because she didn't mean to hurt or offend me in any way. She was just trying to help, nothing more.
Monic: Dianne doesn't have bad intentions.
Rose: I know Monic. Don't worry, everything's fine. I love to enjoy the company of my best friends. Come shopping with girls is always a lot of fun.
While Monic and I were walking towards the sea, with the shopping bags, Dianne, Joan, and Sofie went to get some ice cream for all of us. However, they were quick and Joan heard my last words.
Joan: That's true.
Dianne: Here are the ice creams.
It wasn't an afternoon of shopping as we planned it to be, but the view was equally fascinating.
We sat near the calm wave breaking, typical of a low tide, each with an ice cream in hand, enjoying the delicious flavor of berries and the view that an early sunset provided us.
Rose: What could be better than sharing moments like this with our best friends!?
Joan: Share a moment like this, with our best friends, eating a delicious ice cream.
All: Ahahaha!
And, in truth, is the small moments like this that make the obstacles and difficulties of life seem insignificant. Is the combining of nature’s wonders that cherish you, with the full support of those around you.
