In the sewing room (S1 Ep.9-9)

Saturday, October 19
Dear Diary,
This week went by so fast. One month it had being pass since the new school year started and there is a lot about all of these changes that fills my mind. There's a whole other part of me that longs for the unknown. A side of me that blooms with the dream of another life idealized by hope to see Seth once more. Sometimes I feel him so close it looks real, the touch which I’m longing for, I felt it before. Daydreams! My mind starts playing tricks on me. Tired, overworked would be exactly what mother would say.
However, the work is evolving day-to-day, I dare to say that my own expertise develops from day-to-day, I feel more assertive and convinced every stroke, every cut, every seam.
Well, I'm not the only one convinced of their actions, mother continues her monitoring mission of our grades and today that she joined us was no exception. Today is Saturday and, as has become a habit, mom came to help us with the pieces, but not without first checking our homework from the whole week, mine and Joan’s!
M. Marya: Girls, I got a little snack for both.
Rose: Thank you, mom!
Joan: Thank you, M. Marya!

M. Marya: First get your notebooks and wash the hands, come on! – Mother has a big heart, I think that the generous side of Charlie pulled completely to our mother, however, when it comes to the school she is very demanding. - Well done girls! - Took on both notebooks and gave one to each of us, corresponding.
Rose: Thank you!
Joan: Madam Marya, you do not need to have this job…
M. Marya: Yes, I do! Maybe you do not understand it now, but when you become older then you’ll realize it. I recognize the effort that both do and I'm very proud of both, but the school is your priority, your responsibility.
Rose: We know, mom!
M. Marya: You can go back to cutting and sewing.
Rose: Thank you, mom!
Joan: Thank you, M. Marya!
Rose: Ah… And mom… I love you! – I gave her a hug, to which Joan joined and then we gave her a little kiss on each cheek.
Today and tomorrow it had to be ready, at least, six more pieces. During the week, Joan was responsible for cut the liners, among other chores and I responsible to give shape to the fabrics, or crochet, among other duties, too, and on weekends we would put all parts together with mom’s help.
In these two days, our effort had to be doubled because on the next Saturday we were counting to take the day off to be with the girls. And we couldn't risk leave any pending work or escape to the programmed. The time was short and the job was a lot, but if we couldn't achieve what we commit ourselves to do, would be a long fall from our dream and in the hope to accomplish it.
