If we don't stand together we lose ourselves (S1 Ep.13-9)
Saturday, November 30
Since the last conversation I had with Joan I expected her to take the next step. In vain. Day by day my rebellion was greater. I had too many unanswered questions. I was disappointed and I was afraid of not have the feeling of friendship that united us anymore.
As much as I searched I did not find anything about her family, just folklore about witches and other mythical creatures captured and executed by their deeds be associated with darkness. Although these days it wasn't common to hear talk about it, the truth is that there was a time that was taken a real witch hunt. I didn't want to believe what my eyes saw, how could a human being be capable of such cruelty. Was this her heavy burden?
What made me increasingly intrigued, was that I did not found a single reference to Joan’s family. "She's the only one of her line with this gift?" We all have ancestors, no matter how difficult it can be finding the ties of blood, it's not impossible, but there were no records about hers. "How is it possible? And Why?". Two questions that didn't get out of my thought.
My suspicions carried me back to the Mausoleum. "I've been there with Joan, is in a higher level of the garden behind the house of her grandmother. All that space is ample, could easily contain a hidden library. Is there, it has to be."
My intuition told me that if I could find the Ancestral Library, I would find the answers I seek. "I need a key or seven! I'm sure it’s well protected. Maybe with a spell. How to break a spell?!" Continued my research, in hopes of finding something, the hard part was not knowing exactly what I was looking for.
I lost track of time and quickly the lunch hour arrived. I was so committed that even noticed the phone vibrate. "Three messages from Dianne, she's going to be mad because I wasn't there! Before the damage was done I called her to apologize.
Dianne: Where are you at, Rose?
Rose: Sorry Diane. Girls, sorry. I'm leaving now the school library, had some late homework. I got carried away by the hours. KoffyBreak?!
Dianne: Yes, we're here. Tell me what you want, to advance your request.
I went to meet the girls at KoffyBreak. We had today to finish the Christmas decorations in school and to prepare for the exchange of gifts.
Our school has as one of its principles promoting contact between students and the sharing of experience. In the Christmas season we set up a workbench in the information room of the student association, with two urns, one full of papers with the name of each student, the urn "A”, the other is empty, the urn "B". During the two weeks preceding the end of the first period each student goes through there, register their name, get a paper from urn “A” and deliver it to the student who is on “service”. This, for his time, puts the name of the paper on the sticker for the gift and the student's name on the voucher. We can use the voucher in 20 shops that make a partnership with the school. Is a maximum, all students, without exception, can participate.
After the urn "A" be empty and the urn "B" full, it’s pulled out the papers and confirm all the names. The truth is that in the first week the work is all done. The expectation of who's got our name is in the air, as well as the hope it’s in the hand of our high school flirtation, that person we have admiration and so far we haven't been able to tell!
