Joy and happiness without Age (S1 Ep.13-10)
Tuesday, December 17
Dear Diary,
The last day of this period has arrived and with it, Santa Claus comes to school. On his way to the gym, he goes handing out candy and, with each candy, also distributes a smile. I know, we got old enough to act like grownups. But ... What really is being an adult? Is losing the joy to see Santa, because we're adults?! Is not being able to celebrate these special dates as kids?! No! I don't want to lose the happiness of my childhood, I don’t want to stop living happy as a child, I don’t want to stop learning. Above all, don't want to see the difference as an adult, but rather view equality in the difference as a child, without fear of loving the unknown without fear of learning. I do embrace the increased responsibility to care for and teach the younger ones, I do embrace the responsibility to be independent. These are the aspects of adulthood that I want and I'm going to embrace the values passed by my family and this school, with the tools that just education gives…
As we reach the school we left the food and drink each one brings with the students representing the Association and teachers that are monitoring the party, the gifts we left along the Santa Claus’ area.
After the show ends up Santa and his Elves call the students, one at the time, to deliver the gifts.
Anyone can get our name, how do we know who has it?! Well, according to the seniors students, there was a student who, to his gift, joined a postcard, made for himself, to wish happy holidays and left his ID, name, year and Class, asking to who received let him know if she/he had liked the present. The student who received the gift at the beginning of the following period sought for him, when they met the words shared were – "Thanks, I really liked the present, but I liked more of the postcard you did. You lose your time to put a smile on a stranger's face is priceless, thank you very much!". They became great friends and the next Christmas made a campaign at the school for students to join, on their gifts, a postcard made for themselves, leaving their identification.
While distributing the pamphlets by the school the teacher responsible for the creation of "Sharing Christmas" was watching them, seeing the happiness in their action muttered to himself - I know it! Sooner or later they would understand.
Since then many friendships were created. The joy for us to join in aid to the next grows from year to year. Students have created study groups in which the seniors help the fresher ones, which I might add is a great way to study. When the student has a new responsibility there is always students available to help, even those who do not belong to the Association. The spirit created here goes far beyond the holiday season.
