Like the wind (S1 Ep.19-9)
Mikhael
heard my words. His heart beat with more vigour to feel the compassion on them,
because, on top of that terrace, he also felt love... A difficult feeling to
explain, but like the wind that caressed his face, he couldn't see it, he couldn’t
touch it... Still, when you feel, since its little breeze, to its devastating
force, you know it it's real. It's all around you, waiting for its moment,
waiting for its recognition on the other. And if you open your heart, you will
hear it calling for you, wanting to join two in one...
Mikhael
wanted to come down to us. Hold me in his arms was his wish. He wanted to get
out of the darkness and show himself to me, longed for my affection, for my
touch. But now he knew what he had to do to keep me safe and so he left.
Despite
the incident, this morning was not a complete disaster. We had so much to catch
up on the fashion show area, it’s true, and with this, the setup of the laboratory
material was delayed. The structure of the tarp was being reviewed, as well as
the benches and the stage.
Dianne
took the reins of the situation and handed out new tasks for all of us. In
agreement with professor Samuel and the electricity technician decided to
redirect our efforts to complete the installation of outdoor lighting. And by
lunchtime, we were able to put it all together. It was not a breakthrough, but
still, it was a step forward, as well as help us distract from what had
happened.
We
didn't talk much about what happened, but the anxiety to understand was
present. From time to time I looked at the work being done in the main tent and
one or another time I asked Diane about it, to which she replied "at the
end of the expertise they’ll give us an answer."
Moments
before we left for lunch the technician responsible, called us, seemed to have
explanations. I thought!
The
assessment of what happened was inconclusive. The material is in excellent
conditions and as expected, there was no sign of flaws in the structure. In the
assessing of the expert, the joints had been loose. In short, someone gave the
screws some slack. What didn't make sense according to the report featured
because, in addition to the strength of the beam that would have done it fall
sooner, to do this would need the proper equipment, and as was obvious by the
lack of marks on the floor, none hadn't been here with any vehicle nor the
security reports denounced the presence of non-authorize personal. "So,
what happened?!"
None
of us was happy with the lack of certainty. Dianne and Professor Samuel made a
few more questions, the technician assured it would be safe for we continue the
work. Nonetheless, they would continue to analyze what happened.
I
noticed on Joan's reaction, the way she accepted the result of the assessment,
so calmly, was suspect. Why?! Because after the half-truths that I have heard
so far, the lack of logical explanation isn’t familiar to me, at all.
I
know that Joan wouldn't do anything to hurt us, or rather, I want to believe
that she wouldn’t, but what happened was a feat of magic, and if it was so,
surely she'd know who to blame. What I was worried about with this thought was
the fact that the question remained was whether she would tell us, or if it was
one more secret to keep, persist permanently. I was scared by what happened and
the fear of having to cancel the show wouldn't let me think clearly, I needed
answers, needed certainty!
Sofie:
Professor, will you have lunch with us?
Miguel:
Come, Professor, is the celebration of our victory.
Prof.
Samuel: Victory?
Charlie:
The girls here have challenged us to a game of Bowling. They never had a chance...
- Said making a pouting as a joke. – But today we celebrate all together. Come
with us!
Rose:
In our defense, they are good, very good. Clearly had more practice time than
us.
Richard:
You were not that bad.
Sofie:
Thanks! Mr Strikes. That's very nice of you.
Prof.
Samuel: I’m glad to hear you got out for distractions. Very well done. Let’s
go, then.
When
we arrived at the KoffyBreak Mario already awaited us, with tables arranged to
sit down all together. And then we order drinks, sipped on my iced tea in
preparation for the speech that was coming. Asked for everyone's attention…
Charlie:
Oh-o! Here comes the speech.
Rose:
It is not long and the food still takes some time so here goes. I know we got a
big scare this morning. But fortunately, everything is fine. And, frankly, I
hope we don't have any more unpleasant surprises like this. All things
considered, I have much to be grateful, to maintenance, cleaning and technicians
crews, who have worked day after day. Those responsible for olive oil
"Bonnet” and here to the KoffyBreak, who have supported us and believed in
us. And especially to you, the effort and commitment of each here. Without you, this wouldn't be possible. You were the impetus, the starting point and are the
pillars of this project. Had dedicated without expecting any reward in return…
Charlie:
We have a voucher for lunch... - Said extolling the smiles on everyone.
Rose:
That's true. And now that you have tasted the sweet of your victory I can tell
the rest of the surprise… - Everyone looked at me in suspense. - I bought
vouchers for all! To thank you for having joined me on this adventure. My many
thanks. - I made a bow and went back to sit.
Everyone
cheered, smiling with joy. It's just a small gesture, but it's from the heart.
So all together we celebrate this new chapter in our lives and so that altogether we can look at our par and recognize its merit.
