At The Vet Clinic (S1 Ep.3-7)
In ten minute here we were, next to the parking lot of the veterinarian. I peeked in the box and the kitten remained quietly in lay down. Looked at me completely relaxed, I think he was intoxicated by sleep. Yawned and lay his head on his front legs. Put my hand on the door handle and before I left I thanked Charlie for having brought us...
Rose: Thank you, Charlie.
Charlie: Do you want me to get you later?
Rose: Should not be necessary. – Said in a tone saddened, that didn't go unnoticed by Charlie.
Charlie: If you need, send a message I’ll get here in an instant. - His words fed the hope in me, knowing, for sure, that his intention was to cheer me up and nothing else.
Rose: All right. Thank you! Goodbye Charlie.
I got out of the car with the kitten and we went in the direction of a veterinarian. With the tranquillity that the kitten kept every step, it was positive that I was more nervous about this than he.
Felt sadness with the mere idea of parting from the kitten, but the truth was if he had a family, they should also be sad, thinking what was his destination by now. Find his home was the right thing to do.
After the entrance, I went straight to the reception and after there to the Mr Luís office. The office door was open but still, I knocked three times as a sign of my presence.
After the entrance, I went straight to the reception and after there to the Mr Luís office. The office door was open but still, I knocked three times as a sign of my presence.
Rose: May I, Mr Luís?
Mr Luís: Hello Rose, enter! – Looked a little surprised by the box that I had on hand and added. – What brings you here?
Mr Luís: And you want to see if he has a chip, is it?
Rose: Yes, please. - I put the box in the chair, open the box’s tabs and picked up the kitten.
Mr Luís: Give me a moment. - Said while looking for something on his desktop computer. - I don't have any report of a kitten disappearance. Give him to me, please. - With the machine, he removed from the desk, Mr Luís pass it thru his neck. – He doesn’t have a chip either. I’ll do a check-up to him and he stays here for adoption if no one claims him.
Rose: Aah… He could stay with me until we find his family!
Mr Luís: And if he doesn’t have one? Having a pet it’s a great responsibility.
Rose: I know it Mr Luís. He stays with me, I adopt him.
Mr Luís: All right, it’s settled then. Here's a list of what he needs, but in addition to food and comfort, he also needs care and a lot of patience. Ask at reception to mark a new appointment for next Saturday.
Rose: I’ll do it!
Mr Luís: We’ll be right back. - Took the kitten, that looked at me with his eyes wide open, and both leave the office for a few minutes. I stayed calm and I waited in quiet... I admit that with a certain joy, too. - Here's the little guy. – I smiled for seen him again, came straight at me and leaned back in my left arm. Mr Luis watched with some surprise. – You two create a bond of friendship already, I see. Well, good news. He's a little undernourished but does not present nor internal injuries, nor any diseases. With a regulated diet and lots of water, he is back to good form in no time.
Rose: Thank you Mr Luís. I'll take good care of him.
Mr Luís: I believe you will! – Said smiling, admiring the sweet way that I imposed my every move. – Until next Saturday.
Rose: Until next Saturday. And thank you once again Mr Luís.
At Mr Louis clinic, the veterinarian, was found no report of the disappearance of a black kitten nor a chip on him.
"I'd like to stay with him. In my heart, the kitten was already part of the family. It is true that it is a lot of responsibility having a pet, require much care, love and attention, but I think I'm ready, and frankly, I like him, I feel like he has become a part of me ". This tiny being conquered me, just with a look.
