On the property of Joan’s Grandmother (S1 Ep.6-4)
Sunday, July 21
It wouldn't be exactly until
Monday. It really wouldn’t! If the answer to the mystery of Joan resided on the
property of her grandmother, then it wouldn’t pass from today! I woke up early
and prepared myself to go there. I know it's not the right thing to do, but how
else could I get answers if Joan didn't confide in me! If she insists on asking faith without giving any
back. It wasn't the right thing to do but
I would go ahead with my plan.
I don't know much about this
property, frankly, since I know Joan, I think I've never been here before.
Whenever I saw Mrs Beatrice was at some
event or Joan's house or in a public place, so I had to find a way to stay as
close as possible to the entrance without being seen.
In broad daylight was not
easy to go unnoticed, however, the abundant gardens, in a way, facilitated the
hide of my presence, the hardest thing was to get through so much vegetation. A
court here, a scratch there, but I was able to get in there and hide near a
shrub with good visibility for the entry. I waited a few minutes, what seemed more
like hours. I was shaking, I don't know if it was from fear or the adrenaline
rush that ran through my body.
When Joan arrived, I was
expecting her to go toward the mansion, as she said she was going to have lunch
here, but she didn't do that, instead passed it by, went through the back
garden, climbed a stairs that gave access to a private family’s area and
entered what seemed to be a mausoleum. This was a wide open area, to climb the stairs certainly I would be seeing,
the only way was to try and climb, always along the wall, where had thicker
vegetation.
I wasn't very close, but I
could see the entrance to the Mausoleum. A little voice told me to go ahead, go
to Joan and help her in what she needed, however, the memory of her image, as
if she were broken up, asking me to trust her, kept me.
I waited hidden behind a bush
and kept waiting. Over time the fear of being discovered had intensified,
"and if they find me how do I apologize?!" The curiosity of why Joan got so long in there wouldn't let me go
and the impulse to go ahead was getting stronger.
I decided, then, follow in her
footsteps until that little monument and enter it. To my amazement... There was
not a single live soul here. A thrill ran through my spine at the same time I called
her. - Joan!? – There was no other door, beside the one behind me, how she
wasn't here?
