A night to remember (S1 Ep.14-11)
Richard: You know what that means, right? It’s not polite to let a lady waiting, especially one as pretty as the Princess...
Rose: What?! – I frowned the eyebrow. Clearly, I missed something. Richard's words were like a dagger in my heart, brought out my greatest fear... Don't be the one he wishes to be next to him. – I didn't get it?
Richard: Sorry it was a joke... – He had just been saved, interrupted by who opened the door behind us.
Charlie: Oh-oh! Have done the honours? You are under the mistletoe, tradition is tradition, come on ... - Mikhael looked at me, noticing my thwarted air, took my hand and kissed it gently. - This year we have new acquisitions, but don't be shy boys, sing to the sound of the spirit. And here they are... - Said pointing to the car parked near the entrance. - Richard, can you help me here.
Seth: Sing?
Rose: Yes. - his air, his sweet innocent look returned me the joy I felt tonight, just for him to be present. – You never did this? – "Stupid question."
Seth: No! I believe that is a tradition typical of this region.
Rose: With all the group together, we go to each one’s house to sing. This year we started here. Is our way to announce the birth of baby Jesus. In every house, we stop for a while to eat or drink something.
Seth: But we just had dinner!?
Rose: Believe me is a lot of fun and... It is likely that they go more for the drinks than for the food.
Charlie: Are you ready?
Rose: Are you ready for the challenge?
Seth: I am... I'm with you! – How, now, I wanted to go back in time, to be with him under the mistletoe.
We started at our house. They all came to the door listening to the songs, but we didn't have to pass the first song until my mom invited us all to enter. We ate, we drank, we spread a little more conversation and we move on to the next house. In this night we had walked thru almost the entire parish. The hours passed before we know them.
Seth: Wow, your brother's friends, are crazy. – Expressed a smile like a child, the fascination in his eyes was captivating. – It's almost morning and them still with this disposition!? Amazing!
Rose: Come with me ...
Seth: To where?
Rose: You’ll see, come on! - Gave him my hand and guided him to the ring.
Seth: Can we get in?
Rose: Yes, this is a space for everyone to use... When I was little, after school, I used to come here to join my brothers. I loved to see them run meaningless after a ball. They were so happy. I have lots of memories of this space. Each stroke in this ground has a story be told. - Mikhael smiled realising my intention. - Want to play?
Seth: Yes!
Miguel: Here you are. Hey! Charlie… Pedro… Guys, come here!
One by one they were joining us in the ring and till the Sun got up in the sky, we played, laughing at ourselves with the falls caused by a little lack of concentration.
A night of Christmas that will be forever remembered. A happy memory that I hope to warm his heart when we're no longer here.
Seth: Thank you for today. – Said when we got back home.
Rose: Did you have fun?
Seth: Immense. - Grabbed my both hands, joining them he looked up... - I'm loving to meet your traditions. – I closed my eyes, smiling I faced the ground. - Do you know what this means? – Gently set my hands free to hold my face, he leaned over and softly kissed my lips.
