At the Lake House (S1 Ep.16-10)

Our parents left us and followed their way back home. But not before making a last exchange of concerns...
Mr Moniz: Will you girls be okay?
Sofie: Yes father. You can go rested. We have network signal, which is wonderful, if we need anything, I won't hesitate.
Rose: Mom, when you get home tell me how's Kat, can you do that?
D. Marya: I will. Be rest assured. See you girls on Sunday. Be good.
... And there they went.
Dianne: And here we are. Welcome!
Rose: Wow! Dianne looks like a little paradise. - The houses from a distance seemed smaller than seen from here. The simplicity that was the entire surrounding environment gave it a beauty difficult to explain in words.
Dianne: I knew you'd like it. Was your presentation that inspired me with the idea of this weekend. The first of many I hope.
Monic: Wait till you see the wonders hidden among the Woods. The path to the river is fantastic.
Dianne: We get to that. First what it has to be first. So, here's the plan, until the preparation of the lunch we go undo the bags and store the groceries. Joan, Rose and Sofie, you take the guest bedroom. In the main cabinet put the pieces of the collection, put them on the portable hanger. Monic and I stayed in my bedroom, we organize the makeup and hair products. We have one hour ...
Joan: Okay Chief. – Replied in a joking way.
Dianne: We come back downstairs to do lunch. Clean the kitchen and let's do a survey of the area, to point out the locations for the photo shoot. Do you agree, Rose?
Rose: Yes, sounds good.
Diane had assumed control. With her to commanding this weekend of one thing, we were sure. Nothing would be left to chance. Made us a guided tour to the House, stopping finally next to the bedrooms.
Half an hour later we had all the bags undone and still remained some time to start preparing lunch. Then Monic led us to the back of the House. The lake view was breathtaking. Next to the wooden platform, it was possible to observe other houses in the distance. The Lake here was really great. What justified the small boats tied to bonds.
Joan: I'd love to take a boat ride by the Lake.
Dianne: On Sunday before we go, we can take spend the morning here.
Rose: That would be great.
Monic: Let's lunch girls?!
Dianne: Yes!
Sofie: You're really excited Monic.
Monic: You have to see the waterfall.
Rose: There is a waterfall near here?!
Dianne: Yes. It was one of the surprises.
Back to the House and, altogether, we prepare the lunch. Each performing a task. I could see us here every year.
Dianne was certainly blessed to have this magnificent space. In my eyes, a piece of paradise, a special place that arguably created special moments to remember for a lifetime. I was very grateful to her for sharing it.
After lunch, we prepare our backpacks with water, sandwiches and fruit and then we went to explore the tracks indicated by Monic. Her enthusiasm was contagious. Now I understand why she loves so much spend the weekends with Dianne in her vacation home. The House, the Lake, the meadows, the animals, the mountains, the cascade ... They were perfect, ideal scenarios for the photo shoot. In fact, only the cold, characteristic of the season, was the only drawback, because here it was felt a little more.
We returned home at the end of the day. The early evening accompanied the last meters of the track and as the light in the sky faded away, the small house lamps illuminated our path. Every discovery in this space made me understand better the intention of Dianne. I had heard of self-sustaining houses, in recent months I have been studying on the subject, but so far never seen with my own eyes. How everything here is salvaged by keeping the beauty of nature, give me hope that our project will be achievable.
With the long walk of today, all shared a little discomfort in the feet and even for this Diane had a solution. Indicated to us the way to the garage, where each one of us took a basin. We went into the living room and, while Monic and I made dinner, Joan warmed water to our feet and Sofie and Dianne went to get blankets, towels and nail kits.
We had dinner, then we organize the kitchen and went to the sofas, where we spent the rest of the night taking care of our manicure and pédicure, while traded ideas for tomorrow's session.
I imagine that reach the goal is a feeling like no other, the thrill of, finally, see the result of months, years, of work, now more than ever, I understood the phrase "The destination is important, but what gives it its importance is the path you walk till you reach it."
