The Beginning of “A Love story” (S1 Ep.17-3)

When we got close to the girls, the boat was already prepared for the ride.
Monic: I'm glad that the boat works with solar energy, we don't want to be near to Dianne with paddles in her hands!
Joan: Why?
Monic: She was the one who gave me this scar.
Dianne: It wasn't on purpose.
Monic: I know you don't, so you're forgiven.
Dianne: Do you mind if I tell the story?
Monic: No, not at all.
As the boat pulled away from the platform Dianne started to tell the story.
Dianne: Well, Let’s start for the beginning. Believe me, it is important. There is a whole sequence of events that lead to this scar. Since we were little we used to come here for the summer, the charm and simplicity of nature attract us like a magnet. Perhaps our own nature would be what most longed for this place. – Said sweetly smiling looking for Joan. - We spent the days between the animals and the fields, helping in what we could, but every morning my parents took two, three hours to teach us to have security in the Lake. We learned to swim here, learned the importance of the vest, ride a canoe, boat, anyway... Each year a little more responsibility, "you girls are grown now, you have to be responsible, so used to say, my father". Three years ago appeared this boy in his stand-up jet ski and since then every morning that we were on our ride there he was practising. Monic was fascinated, I was too, but in a different way, I felt that something had changed her, suddenly loved to read. After we put the canoe ashore would take the book which brought in her bag and sat on the platform to "read". And I along her side appreciated what she was doing, but not only. Something else had changed since the boy showed up. We knew that this place was habited, every time we pass at the entrance saw the cars, however, had always been very reserved. Until then never saw they play in the street, or doing lunch. Felt their presence, but never actually saw them. Last year we were in our morning ride and I realized a child was playing in the platform, with the enthusiasm to draw Monic’s attention, I turned back swinging the paddle and splash... I totally forgot that I had it on my hand, she was totally hooked on the boy and this was the result. Three points on the brow. But we don’t stay here. When I noticed that the water was with blood I jumped to help her, in an instant, the boy stood next to us. I must say, he has a wonderful voice. Helped us rise to the canoe and pulled us to the coast. Asked if we needed to call someone, I was a little aggressive to say no and he left. After realizing the severity of the cut, I was nervous, afraid to have blinded her. I yelled for my mom, I went as fast as possible to the boat and get the first aid kit. When my mom arrived helped Monic and we proceeded to the health centre. On the return Monic tried to convince me to go thank him, I was feeling guilty and wanted to had said yes, but I convinced her to wait until the next day. He was wearing the helmet and never removed it. Probably we wouldn't recognize him if he passed by us. I thought we be good just with a heroic gesture and a seductive voice, but I was, oddly enough, wrong. At the end of the day Monic wanted to go put the trash away and I followed her, I knew what was her intention, but I was scared to let her go to that home alone. I've always been a little afraid of that whole area. We don't know those neighbours, appears to be abandoned but has people there... It's all a bit scary. When we reach the crates, they were putting the bags in the trunk of the jeep, I think those were his parents. They were so beautiful and young. Suddenly this boy came up from the front of the jeep with a shy and brilliant look, coming toward us. And asked Monic if she was better. She got so blushed I thought she wouldn’t answer. Once again I was wrong, but one thing I'm sure. She's in love.
Monic: I'm not... I don't know him. I do not deny that something in him attracts me and a lot... But I'm not in love!
Monic's words made me wonder - "Love! What really is love? Is it possible to love someone you don't know? It will be possible to meet someone without ever seeing it?" - I understand her better than I wanted to admit it to myself.
After the boat ride, we went to lunch. Monic's incident and the mystery boy were the main subjects of the conversations but were not the only ones. With the emptying of the plates, we knew the hour to go home was near. We wash the dishes, clean the kitchen and went to get the bags to the entrance, at any time our parents would be here...
Rose: It's time to get back, girls. Thanks for this weekend, Dianne. To all of you.
Dianne: We are a team and we stick together no matter what.
We meet in a group hug and together we all said "friends forever".
It's time to go home, I saw by Monic’s eyes that she was sad to leave. Our life was not here, but she actually loved this place, for a thousand and one reasons was special and for her, for one more. When we passed the entrance of the boy’s house I could swear I saw a shadow in the window, I think he watched her leave from there... "Maybe she was not the only one who suddenly found a new passion in reading. Maybe he also found it, in jet ski..."
