Moving forward (S1 Ep.18-6)
Sunday,
February 16
Last
day of the St. Valentine fair. The time has come to close the gates, box and
inventory. Despite the work in the stand have terminated in the middle of the
afternoon there was still all the dismantled to do because tomorrow we are
back to the routine of school.
After
all the clean done me and the girls followed home. We had to do the math and a
balance of what was already completed so far.
We
gather up in the sewing room, we were exhausted, in need of a shower and rest,
but our focus was on the fashion show and it was important we're all
synchronized in each situation.
Dianne:
The Valentines collection stock is not empty, but the result was very good. I
spent this morning at the gate of the Palace and yesterday recorded a sales
peak. Sofie!
Sofie:
With the values given by Dianne this morning and those Joan had given me
already the expenses are fully covered. We save a considerable value with the
material cedency from the lab and with the loan of the KoffyBreak decorations.
Dianne:
Rose, we have enough to invest in the next step. And with the adherence to the fashion
show, I think we need to start it as soon as possible. Produce only as ordered,
I don't think that will be enough.
Rose:
I had that in mind. We have to review all the steps, but this week I'm beginning
already the search for available spaces. After my mother deal with
documentation, we started recruiting.
Joan:
maybe I can help with space! The old craft toy factory, near the
warehouses?
Monic:
Know the place. It's a little old and in need of work, but my mother has some
old photos of it, saw how it used to look like before and it was beautiful!
Dianne:
Yes. It was a shame it had to close.
Joan:
The owner does not sell, however, I think for a reasonable price we can rent t.
We can try to reach an agreement with the remodelling costs...
Rose: Does it belong to your grandmother? –
Said holding the smile.
Joan:
Yes, it does. But believe me, it's the perfect place. Cleaning the part of wild
vegetation to create a garden and doing the necessary remodelling, it can become
our little dream factory.
Rose:
Near the old warehouses? I know that. Yes, I think we could make a good
workplace there. I already have some ideas. Sofie, can we cover a remodel,
material to support the production, raw material and the first months of wages?
Sofie:
Well, based on the calculations in your planning, the first phase of the next
step is ensured if the sales of tickets remain! We're not far from the desired
goal. I talk to my mom and ask her contact of the contractor responsible for
hotels. We can assist in remodelling and save a little more. I believe we have everything
to succeed, but after the budget at hand, I’ll have a more consistent forecast.
Joan:
And as for Valentine’s day Collection products still in inventory?
Monic:
We can put them in stock for next year.
Joan:
I have an idea! If you all agree…
Rose:
Tell us!
Joan:
We make a solidarity campaign. Offer them with the next ticket sales along with
a raffle of donation.
Dianne:
Do you want to increase the price of tickets?
Joan:
No! My idea is as follows. Every pair of tickets sold simultaneously get a gift.
In the gift, we put a raffle with the percentage of the price tickets we're
going to donate and the name of the institution.
Rose:
And I know where we can make the donation.
Joan:
Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
Rose:
I think so... To the school, to support the scholarships they offer. Do you
agree?
Monic:
Wow! I completely agree.
Dianne:
Of Course. The Student Association does an amazing job to help the school in
that department, believe me, all the support will be welcome.
Sofie:
For sure! I can do an estimate of expenditure and revenue for each collection
to keep the donations, just like you wanted Rose. With the launch of the
factory, we stay with a tight budget, but as soon as we get the investment return
we put the plan into action.
Rose:
I want to add something to our plan at this point. The old factory of handmade
toys gave me an idea. I'm going to work on it and when I have good foundations
I share with you, okay?
Joan:
Of Course. - With the look she gave me I saw Joan from the old days. I didn't
have to say much to be understood. The expression of her being here and not
being at the same time was gone. Throughout the weekend she was focused in our
work. – I take care of the pamphlets and posters for the box office.
Dianne:
Who knew in high school we create our own job and that all started by our
little Rose.
Rose:
In fact, by Joan. If she didn't insist, probably, if we were here it would be
for other reasons.
Joan:
Just showed you what you already knew, but feared. You're talented and
generous, remind me of my grandmother and as she, you have an indomitable force
inside of you, you just have to let it show.
I
always learned that when we give also receive. With us was a little backwards.
In spite of the turbulence we've been through, we receive more than we
anticipated. Every day the accession and affection were soaring. The strength
and support that every person transmitted in every order, every compliment,
every message, every feedback, every suggestion, made us want to go further and
to give back.
And
all agreed it was time to do so. I believe in education, in the preparation of
capabilities, in the possibilities which only the study can give us. However,
unfortunately not all of us have the same opportunities for various reasons,
and regardless of these if we can, we should help, not imposing, but giving and
creating opportunities. Is the only way we all together can move forward.
